Essay on The Nepali Common Folk

Common Nepali people are humble. They are the pride of the nation. They know her truly. They are used to sharing the spirit of unity in diversity. They are rich in the spirit and practice of humanity, so-operation and tolerance. They are fond of observing peace, justice and prosperity.

Common Nepali people are used to practicing unity and diversity as they are bound with the sacred spirit of fraternity although they belong to distinct social recognitions because Nepal is multi-lingual, multi-racial and multi-religious country.

Our societies consist of people speaking different language as their mother tongues. Some of them are Nepali, Rai, Limbu, Neware, Maithili, Bhojpuri, Sherpa, Gurung, Magar, Tamang etc. but these have enriched the tongues have not hindered the societies adversely. They have enriched the linguistic recognition of our societies. The people speaking one language are fond of respecting other languages and the people speaking them as well. We have seen that most of the Nepalese societies are bilingual where two languages are spoken as their mother tongues. The people speaking one language seem to be eager to learn the next in these societies.

Nepalese societies consist of different social groups of races such as Gurung, Magar, Rai, Sherpa, Newar, Tharu, Dhimal, Chhetri, Bramana and so on. The people belonging to different groups live together unitedly sharing their experiences, feelings, sorrows and happiness. Although they have their own social rituals and cultures, they respect others. We have seen that these people are completely humble and well-cultured.

Nepalese people follow different religions. Some of them are Hindus, Buddhists, Islam’s, Christians, etc. We have not seen any social conflicts between the people following different religions because they have already developed the spirit and practice of religious tolerance; they respect all the religions equally. The people following one religion in their societies are found in the holy places of the other religions as the devotees. They have already learnt that almighty is for all.

Common Nepali people are honest, dutiful, hard-working, humble, co-operative and kind-hearted. They do not want to take the advantage of weaknesses of others. They always complete their duties working hard. Hey always behave with other people  politely. They re ready to help the needy people in the society. They never involve in the criminal activities. Although they do not have skyscrapers, their spirit and humanity have tied up themselves together.

It is real that humble Nepali people are the pride of the nation; they know her truly. They are ready to sacrifice themselves to save the nation they are completely united by the spirit and practice of patriotism and fraternity.

Essay on The Condition of Childless Women in Our Society

Married women are expected to be mothers. They are also naturally eager to give birth to their children. If they are unable to bar children, they are mistreated in traditional societies where people believe that only women have to be responsible to bear the children. In our society, the condition of childless women is not so miserable as in the traditional societies.

Public awareness functions as one of the responsible factors to enhance the societies making them well-cultured, civilized and prosperous. If people fall victims of superstitions, childless women are badly treated because of the attitudes and concepts of the people. In our society, most of the people are well-educated. Therefore, they have know the causes of being childless. If married women cannot give birth to their children, they are not blamed for it, rather they are taken to the doctors. Their family members follow the doctor’s suggestions. But some people are completely conservative, they only blame the women for being childless. For instance, if a married woman cannot give birth to the children, her husband wants to marry a next woman; had does to think of the other causes that do not belong to the physical and biological conditions of his wife. In our society, the childless women of some families are mistreated and tortured if the y are not practically well-educated. They think that married women have to perpetuate their husbands through name and prosperity by giving birth to their children.

In our society, the conditions of childless women have been improving gradually despite some misbehaviors toward them prevailing for ages; they cannot be uprooted overnight. For instance, Uneducated husbands of the childless women get married to other women. They stat hating the first wives. These childless women are tortured by their mother-in-laws. Some of them are compelled to go to their parents; they many not be well-treated  there, too. Then, their husbands want to desert them through the legal divorce. By the result, the condition of these women becomes more miserable.

If childless women are mistreated and tortured, they cannot tolerate hostile behavior towards them. They will be fed up with life because of extreme degree of pessimism governing their psychological state. Ultimately, they are likely to commit suicide. But in my society, such type of miserable phenomena have not been observed yet; God bless!

In order to improve the  condition of the childless women who are not properly treated, public awareness has to be promoted by educating people. But the women themselves must be brave enough to fight against the superstitions prevailing for ages. Furthermore, they have to seek for suitable legal provisions to settle the problems properly.

In our society, we have not seen any childless women who are badly treated. If there are some unnoticed, they have to be alert empowering themselves to fight against the inhuman behavior.

Essay on My Hiking Experience

Hiking refers to the activity of going for long walks in the country for pleasure, knowledge and exercises. Last year, I went hiking with my friends. It was full of pleasure and knowledge. It provided us heavy physical as well as mental exercises. Since then, I have felt that hiking is really beneficial for us.

Nepal is rich in natural beauties and gifts. We can have tremendous benefits if we go hiking and observe these natural entities. Last year summer vacation was heavily advantageous for us. As we wanted to go hiking, at firs, we decided the places where to go. We decided that we were going to visit different places in Solukhumbu district, the famous region consisting of snow-capped mountain peaks including Mt. Everest.

We made a complete plan for our hike. We formed the hiking group consisting of ten members including a medical staff, an M.B.B.S. doctor. He was very eager to go with us. Then, we visited the tourism board of Nepal to collect the information of the location. We decided to go to Ziri in Dolakha by bus and from there trekking would begin. We made a complete map of the route from Ziri to different places. Then, we bought some equipment and thing required in the hike. Some of the things we bought and managed were extra clothing, firs-aid-kits with some medicines, carbohydrate snakes, sunglasses, a map of the route, a compass, carbohydrate snakes, sunglasses, a map of the route, a compass, flash lights, extra batteries, matches, knives, brimmed hats, woolen socks, jackets, some utensils required to prepare food, alight gas-stove, etc.

We hired a microbus to go to Ziri. Our journey from kathmandu began at 7 a.m early in the morning. At 2 p.m, we reached at Ziri. We sheltered at a hotel that night. Next morning, we enjouyed tea at the hotel and started to trek to our destination. As we left Ziri, we realized that God had given us many things there. The trekking route was full of natural beauties and gifts such as many water falls, rivers, various types of plants, birds and animals, and so on. We walked very slowly enjoying whatever we saw on the way. We took many photographs of those thins. We could see the beautiful snow-capped mountain peaks to the north.

After three-hour walk, we wanted to have something as we felt hungry. We chose a grassland and set our tents. Then, we set a fire near the tents and started to preparer meal. Our friends Sanjay felt dizzy and wanted to sleep. Our doctor checked him up and provided some carbohydrate snacks and medicines. After an hour, he felt fine. We didn’t light our gas stove as we saw adequate firewood there. Some of our friends started singing and dancing. Rajib played the guitar well I heard while I was preparing meal. As our meal was ready, we had it. We felt the meal was tastiest. After two hours, me moved ahead towares Salleri, the district headquarters of Solukhumbu. We visited different places such as Salleri, Phaplu, Junbesi, Gokyo, Dudhapokhari and Chaurikharka (Lukla).

We felt that our hiking to solukhumbu region was really fruitful. We have widened and depended our knowledge and experiences. I had never thought before that Solukhumbu was so beautiful. Heartily speaking it is a piece of heaven.
I have realized that a Nepali citizen has to visit Solikhumbu once in order to illuminate his/her heart.

Essay on Education for children.

There are different stages in human life. We must learn different knowledge and skills during different stages, but real learning age begins at the age of five and furthers. Education is equally important for all. It is one of the fundamental requirements for each. Life can be successful by the help of appropriate education.

Childhood is the cornerstone of human life. It is the age of starting and getting formal education. Education plays the prime roles as the most important factor for the development of an individual and the society as well. Education refers to the preparation for life. Education promotes the public consciousness. It strengthens national unity. It also provides required man powers for the development of a country.

Learning during childhood is easier and faster. All the children should be sent to school. They must feel safe at school. They must be loved and cared comfortably. Children instinctively deserve our love and proper care. They must be taught everything to shape their life for future. Their future is determined on how we educate them. They should be taught general school subjects like languages, math’s, science, social studies, health education etc. in addition to them, they should be taught music, dance, drawing and so on.

Good manners and discipline function as the keys to success. Children should learn these things at school. Discipline and good manners lead everyone to a prosperous life. We should teach these virtues from the beginning. Small children can imitate adults ‘behavior’. Similarly, they also copy/imitate teacher’s activities. Therefore teachers and parents should be good models for the small children.

Nowadays, some poor children are not going to school. They go to work with their parents. We can see many children working in fields, on reads, in factories and as servants, too. Most of the orphans are in miserable condition. They do not go to school. We should also educate them. They should be given technical education such as tailoring, carpentry, etc. some of the children who are handicapped deserve our sympathy, generosity, mercy and affection to be educated.

Educated people play great roles for the development of the country. They should be responsible for the nation. If the small children at school are properly taught the importance of patriotism, they love and respect the country.

Essay on Drug Addiction-A Major Social Problem.

‘Drug addiction’ refers to the habit of taking the substance that affects the nervous system. Some of the drugs are cocaine, heroin, opium, brown sugar, hashish, etc. The people who are drug addicts have different drugs regularly. Nowadays, especially the young boys of towns are victimized. They are badly intoxicated in drugs.

Nowadays, drug addiction proves to be a major and serous social problem. This problem is rapidly increasing especially in urban regions. The teenagers have been victimized by thi problem. The boys of high schools and higher secondary schools are fond to have been drug addicts. The percentage of the school girls who have been intoxicated in drugs is very low. That’s why this is the major social problem among the boys who ar teenagers.

Some responsible circumstances and causes have paved the way to drug addiction. The children seem to be imitating the adults’ behaviour. When the adults smoke, the children are lured and they start smoking. And smoking leads them to drug addiction. Some of the boys start taking drugs imitating the habit of their friends. Some people start taking drugs because of being pessimistic; they are hopeless about their future. The people who arefed up with life do not want to live for a long time. They want to enjoy the life taking drugs for a few days. Some of the smugglers of drugs provide the youths with drugs free of cost at the beginning. Their prime motive is to make the youths habitual or intoxicated in taking drugs. When the youths become drugs addicts, they go to the sugglers to buy the drugs. Similarly, some Sadhus also take some drugs. Some of the youths fo to these Sadhus and learn to take drugs from them.

Essay on Dowry System

We live in our society. It is made up of different castes and sub-castes.
There are different traditions and cultures. Some of the traditions are good, but not all of them. Dowry system is one of the social evils which is in practice till now. Dowry is the property or money given to the bride to take her husband’s house when she gets married. This evil system is especially practiced in the Terai of our country.

Nowadays, dowry is a major factor when someone gets married. The bridegroom’s family proposes the amount of dowry. And if the bride’s family agrees it, the marriage program is organized. But the dowry should be given on the day of marriage ceremony. The bridegroom can deny the marriage if he does not get decided dowry. It is the worst aspect of this system.

Bride’s parents want their daughter to have a prosperous life. They want to support her economically. They certainly love their daughter. But in dowry system, the money and other things are not given to her for her happiness; rather they are given to make the bridegroom agree to get married to her. Nowadays, the bridegrooms demand more property from the bride’s family. Thus, this social evil has commercialized marriage contract and conjugal life.

This system is certainly disadvantageous. Firstly, the relation between brides and bridegrooms cannot be sound. The bridegrooms treat the brides badly if they think the given dowry is not enough. We can see and hear many crimes connected to the issues of dowry. Some brides are badly beaten by their husbands. They urge their wives to bring additional property. Unfortunately, the struggle between the bride and bridegroom destroys their entire life. Many newly married women are compelled to abandon their husband’s house. This system often invites fatal disasters in the conjugal life. Some of the newly married women are compelled to abandon their husbands house. This system often invites fatal disasters in the conjugal life. Some of the newly married women are murdered by their husbands as the result of dowry system. What a savage brutality!

Nowadays, this system has been developed as the source of earning property for unmarried males. Many good girls cannot get good husbands if their parents are not well off. The bride’s families feel that they have bought the boys for their daughters. The boys are treated as the goods of the market. Newly married spouses cannot be reapportioned with each other. Therefore this system should be either eradicated or reformed.

I think that this system should be banned by law. All the educated girls and boys should discourage and avoid this system when they get married. The parents of the girls should educate their daughters properly., if the girls are educated, they can find good husbands themselves. At any cost, this system should be wiped our for a well-cultured and civilized society.

Essay on Child Rights in Nepal.

Human beings want to enjoy freedom, justice and peace. Children naturally want to enjoy rights. They are ignorant and deserve our love. Children are supposed to enjoy some rights. They are right to shelter, right to food, right to health care, right to education, right to expression, right to games and so on. Child rights are very important to enhance human dignity and prosperity.

In Nepal, the condition of children is not uniform. There are many children who cannot go to school. Some of them are the children of the poor parents. Their parents compel them to go to work. Because of poverty, they cannot have a balanced diet and are not properly cared. Orphans and street children are in a miserable condition. They cannot get even simple food to live on. Most of them beg walking door to door. We can see many boys sleeping on the pavements of the roadsides or the temples and other public places. Their condition is worse than a dog. Some poor children are kept by the rich as their servants. Some children seem to be working as the house boys and girls in the cities. Some of the children are working at hotels and factories. They are not enjoying their rights. But most of the children go to school for their education. They are not in a miserable condition. They are normally enjoying their rights and freedom. Thus prevailing disparity hinders child rights in Nepal.

Nowadays, many NGO’s have been supporting the children in many ways. Some of the major NGO’s are CWIN, SOS, STC, UNDP, UNICEF etc. They especially support the children who are orphans, street children, uncared, unloved and unclaimed. The organizations support them by providing education, health care, balanced diet, even shelter and clothes. Some of the schools have been established for them. Some of the children who seem to be collecting cans, bottles, plastics, etc. are also helped. They are given technical education like tailoring, carpentry, paper work, etc. Thus these NGO’s are supporting the children to maintain a normal life.

In order to promote child rights in Nepal, all he sectors concerned should pay their complete attention. Firstly, the children should be provided basic needs such as food, shelter, clothes, etc. education should be made compulsory for all the children. The discrimination between sons and daughters should be avoided. The parents who are uneducated think that education is necessary only for boys, but not for girls. They don not want to send their daughters to schools. Those parents should be convinced. All the street children, orphans, uncared and unwanted ones should be fed, cared and educated. Then automatically the condition of child rights gets enhanced.

The government should completely ban child labor at hotels and factories. At least, primary education should be made compulsory for all the children. Essay on Animals Right

Human beings keep and use many animals for various purposes. Animals are also living beings like us. They also seek love and sympathy. They want to be free but they cannot express their desire in language. We can realize what if we study their behaviors deeply. They want to enjoy their rights and freedom.

We human beings are very cruel to animals. We treat them very badly. We don not care their rights and wishes. We keep them at home for our benefit and enjoyment. We train them widely punishing them for insignificant mistakes and errors. But animals are very friendly and lovable. They never betray us , rather we betray them. We kill them mercilessly and eat their meat. How cruel we are to satisfy our hunger! We kill other living beings for our meal. We sacrifice them to God and Goddesses to satisfy our whims. It seems that our hostile behavior to animals has violated their rights.

In order to preserve animal right, we have to reform our nature and habits. We must treat them friendly. We should feel that they also have sense of pain, love, hunger, friendship, hostility, etc. we must love them as they love us. By nature, human beings are not carnivorous. It is not necessary for us to kill animals for their meat. We are destroying animals’ foods and living places. We have destroyed the jungle. To preserve them, w have to preserve the jungle. The forest is their habitat. To preserve them, we have to preserve the jungle. The forest is their habitat. An animal cannot survive if its habitat and foods are destroyed.

Preservation of animal rights proves to be very important. If we want to preserve animals naturally, we have to preserve the natural resources. Therefore, we can preserve the ecology and environment. To preserve nature is to preserve ourselves. Ultimately, we can minimize the ruins of natural disasters if we preserve animals. Furthermore, it is said that eating meat, we can improve our health condition. Similarly, we can stop ourselves to be criminal by killing animals. It can be said that the preservation of animal rights is our own preservation.

We must realize that animals are our friends. They never betray and harm us. They do not deprive our rights. We should treat them using our conscience. We human beings are prime role players to preserve animal rights.

The growing population is compelled to clear the jungle for agriculture and settlement. People cut down the trees for firewood, building materials and furniture. The cattle glaziers take their domestic animals to the jungle to graze. These domestic animals eat up the newly growing plants. By the result, the new plants cannot grow up easily. The silly people set a fire in the jungle. By the result, the wild fire destroys the whole jungle very badly. The main cause of its destruction is poor public awareness. The people who are not aptly conscious and responsible cannot understand the importance and necessity of the forests.

Some to them are drought, landslides, soil erosion, over floods, salutation of rivers and lakes, weather extremes, pollution, green-house effect, ozone layer depletion and desertification. The natural disasters as such are extremely destructive for all the living creatures. If the process of destruction of the forest is not controlled, the future will be extremely risky.
We can get many advantages from the jungle. We can preserve wild animals in the jungle. We can get firewood, timber, herbs, grass, etc, from the jungle. It helps us to purify the atmosphere and to reduce the gravity of air pollution. Underground water resources can be saved in the forest. It also helps us to balance eco-system. The climate and environment are completely fresh and healthy in the mountains. That’s why the inhabitants of the mountain regions are always vigorous and robust.

We can have some disadvantages from mountains. They are one of the hindrances to the development of the country. The fertility of the land is not rich in the mountains. The farmers are under the poverty line. Roads are the basic requirements of any other development programmers. But road making in mountains proves to be very slow and expensive.             The animals which spend their entire life in the jungle are called wild animals. Some of them are tigers, lions, leopards, foxes, monkeys, deer, squirrels and so on. Their categories spread into various species and groups. Some of them are carnivorous, some are herbivorous while others are omnivorous. They are also categorized into terrestrial, amphibian, arboreal, aerial and aquatic. Most of them are directly or indirectly advantageous for us.
The animal that live on land are known as terrestrial animals. Generally, birds are categorized s aerial animals. They can fly in the air. The animals which live in water are referred to as aquatic animals. They are fishes, crabs dolphins, etc. similarly amphibians refer to the animals such as alligators, tortoises, frogs, etc. thus the animals are categorized as terrestrial, arboreal, aerial, aquatic and amphibian according to the place where they inhabit naturally.
The animals can also be categorized on the basis of what they eat. The animals which feed on (live on) grass and plants are called herbivorous animals. They are goats, cows, buffaloes, sheep and so on. The animals that feed on only flesh of other animals and birds fall under the category of carnivorous.             Nowadays, most of the wild animals are declining. Some of the animals are endangered. An animal survive if its habitat is destroyed. The jungle, the living place of the wild animals, is fast being destroyed because of different activities of human beings. People clear the jungle for agriculture and settlement. They cut down the tress for firewood, timber and building materials. Furthermore, people kill the wild animals for various purposes indifferently and mercilessly. The main cause of their disappearance is uncontrolled and over-population growth. We can preserve wild animals by preserving the forest, running afforestation programmes, opening wildlife reserves and national parks and making strict rules to prohibit the hunting of the wild animals and birds.
Wild animals absolutely prove to be advantageous for us. Firstly, to preserve them, we have to preserve the jungle. Some animals such as deer, elephants, etc. destroy our crops and vegetables. Some of the wild animals are dangerous for human beings, too. But this opinion in not appreciable.
